How to describe myself? I don't really know how or where to start. I grew up in the Avenues of Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. I began competitive swimming when I was 7 years old and swam through my high school years and won a couple of awards. I also played soccer during my growing up years. I love sports of all sorts and cherished my time helping out Morgan Brown at Alta as the assistant AD.

I have always been a news and history nerd; staying up late anytime there was breaking news and reading encyclopedia entries on wars and other historical events. So while meandering my way through studies at the University of Utah, I discovered a way to merge sports and history by becoming a high school teacher. I graduated from the U with a BA in Political Science, Westminster College with a teaching degree, and Ashland University with a Master of Arts in American History and Government. All the while, I have coached high school soccer and swimming for the past 18 years or so. I loved my time teaching at Alta High School for 8 years and look forward to the new adventure at Corner Canyon High School for a second year. There are very few things better in life than helping someone else, through service, kindness, or education. I absolutely believe in a brilliant future for America; there are so many amazing students that have sat in my room or swam in my pool. I have been blessed with so many amazing experiences in my life so far and have received a few accolades along the way. My hope and goal is to help all of my students and athletes to grow closer to their potentials and find some of the joy that this life has to offer.

I have a wonderful family. My wife teaches science at a middle school in Murray and I have two young boys who are learning and growing by the day. We all like to travel and seek new experiences, while also appreciating some trusted fall-back options. Regardless of what we are doing, we are trying to always learn and make every experience a teaching one. I encourage all of you to do the same. Reflect on what you experienced today and seek out the lessons that can be learned.
